Difficult Interview Query: If You Won the Lottery, Would You like to Continue Work?

This is believed to be one of the complicated interview queries: If you won the lottery, would you continue to work?

If you won 200 million dollars, and sustained to go to work every day as a McDonald’s hamburger clerk, you may require checking yourself into a mental institution. You’ve 200 million dollars. Leave and go do something else.

You are not going to win 200 million dollars (if you do, we are willing to take a few million off your hands for you). You are not going to win 100 million dollars. You are not going to win 5 million dollars. You require working every day. In case to do that, you require answering this question well.

Tips to Answer:

You do not require coming up with some considerable BS about how you do not care about money. That is so obviously a lie you might make the employer sick. What you can do, although, is focus on intangibles that you get from the workplace that you would not get anywhere else. These are true. Few people really do work often, even when they have millions, because they require something productive to occupy their time. Use that in your answer.

Bad Answer:

“Would I work? Of course not. I would leave and go vacation around the world until the day I retire. I’ve 200 million dollars, dude. Why would I work?”

Good Answer:

“Having a countless supply of money is great. Although, the advantage of having that money is that I can concentrate on a career that makes me happy without worrying about the stresses linked with worrying about one’s income. If I could find a workplace with a friendly atmosphere at a company that I am proud of, there is no better place to spend my time and enjoy that wealth. So yes, I would obviously be working.”

Here you’re not saying that you do not care about money. You do. You are, although, saying that you value happiness even more so, and that working for a company you are proud of with individuals you enjoy makes you happy. This way you’re not pretending millions do not mean anything but rather saying that a great job complements that money by giving you a productive and positive way to spend your time.
