Responsibilities
· Assisting in database design
· Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users;
· Mapping out the conceptual design for a planned database;
· Considering both back-end organization of data and front-end accessibility for end-users
· Refining the physical design to meet system storage requirements;
· Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary
· Controlling access permissions and privileges;
· Developing, managing and testing back-up and recovery plans;
· Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly;
· Setting up and testing new database and data handling systems
· Sustaining the security and integrity of data
· Creating complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted
· Optimizing complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted
Required skills
· Understanding of structured query language (SQL)
· Knowledge of (RDBMS) & (OODBMS)
· Experience of MySQL, Amazon Services, Windows and Linux servers.
