TEXPO Pakistan (Pvt.) Ltd. Karachi is looking for a highly skilled and passionate Senior MySQL DBA to join our fast- paced engineering team.

       Responsibilities:

• Develop, design and maintain highly available and scalable databases using MySQL / SQLServer and other Database technologies
• Work closely with the development and product management teams to design and deliver reliable and consistent database services
• Work closely with developers on database choice, schema design, ERD, and query tuning.
• Design and develop efficient stored procedures
• Optimize Database space management
• Backup the database Daily/Weekly/Monthly as required
• Coordinate and execute data backup, archive and restore requests.
• Create and manage quality documents as needed (including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata))
• Publish periodic metrics highlighting our database usage and health
• Use/Develop database automation tools to automate existing database tasks.
• Document system design and procedures.
• Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users.
• Installing and testing new versions of the DBMS
• Ensuring that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
• Data Mining, Data Warehousing

Required Skills and Experience:

• At least 6-8 years of experience in database engineering, and database architecture and management
• Deep understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, SQLServer or similar NoSQL datastores.
• Solid systems administration and automation skills.
• Strong command of a scripting and/or programming language.
• Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Information Science, IT, or similar

Nice to Have:

• Experience with scrum and agile development processes
• Excellent communication and organizational skill
